As a masculine therapist and social worker, I can say firsthand—I’ve been let go by clients when accountability became part of the work.
I consistently reinforce emotional boundaries and directly address avoidance or manipulative behaviors (women are famous for this) when they arise, setting the tone early that there will be times clients may not like me (I tell them I’m okay being the bad guy) But once trust is built, it’s a beautiful process, and accountability follows.
Additionally, I rarely discuss my job with folk because people love to put people in “boxes” (CGA term)
CGA, thanks for the teaching and coach gang too. It’s beautiful to see us leaving the Manosphere and making moves. I have noticed men being stuck and bitter out here in clown world aka the 🎪.
