I had my first social proof example by myself just now. I am in Austria. I will be gone before someone here tries to run up on me 😂, anywho as I was checking I noticed the receptionist was hispanic I started to speak Spanish to practice more she is from Argentina. I am not flutent, but my trips to Spain has gotten me far with the language . Since it was slow I asked if she could record me as it’s my first time here in the Ritz Carlton and the lobby is nice for a Youtube short.
Finished the video and since the room wasn’t ready I had to wait a bit, we continued talking a bit until the room was ready. My room was already upgraded due to my status, the receptionist upgraded me again when the room was ready. I said thank you and continued. I dropped my things off in the room and went back downstairs, the other hotel workers came up to me asking if I am Mr. Shaffi wanting to shake my hand. I was also gifted a gift card for 150 euro for the Spa here. A friendly conversation turned into this, this weekend was already going to be good now, it will be even better.
Safe to say social proof is definitely real
Amazon just laid off 14k this week and this layoff round should total 30k people laid off.
But somehow...they're still looking for someone with my skillset and I'm interviewing with them over the next few weeks. I can stay put and my job and make $280k this year, fully remote, or put myself at risk of layoff and make more.
I don't see no doom and gloom here, both options sound great to me...fck you boss up!
