The annual fee for Amex premium cards is going up.
So what.
Let me say it like this. The Amex Gold and or Platinum cards are the best cards you can have on your personal credit.
Why?
Because no matter what the balance is your score won’t be impacted. Just keep paying on time and you’re good.
Amex also has Pay Over Time—which is a revolving line that doesn’t report to the bureaus. AND if you max out the POT and pay on time they will increase the limit up to $100,000. Beautiful.
On a business Gold or Platinum you can add up to 99 cards. Exquisite.
Just don’t fuck it up. Don’t screw over Amex because they never forget like an elephant. If you do you will never ever get another card from them again.
So suck it up buttercup, pay the fee and enjoy one of the best tools on the planet for managing money and playing the credit game to win.

Question for the JUCO connoisseurs, what is your process to feel comfortable bringing a juco to your house?
Does she need to have a job and/or a “good” family so she also has something to lose and will behave accordingly? Do you get to know her for a few weeks to make sure she’s not desperate?
