I realized that I was competing in a market where I had a significant intellectual advantage, but I was not taking advantage of it. I have an extensive background in electronics and electrical repair as well as diagnostics and failure analysis. I think I found the middle ground in locksmithing. Now this isn’t your granddad’s lock picking. it has evolved into sort of a hacking security entry type of field where it takes a lot of electronics and electrical experience of micro controllers, eeproms and flash memories in order to “break in” to a car. It is a very niche field and I have the ability to make my own lane. There’s only a few competitors compared to standard mobile mechanic work which has 100s including the crackheads.
